Manufacturing
From ring blank to inspected assembly
Slewing rings are not bought off a shelf. They are turned, hardened, ground and assembled, and each step leaves a record. This is the chain a ring goes through before it reaches your machine.
Process chain
01
Blank & forging
Ring rolled from 42CrMo4 or 50Mn, traceable to heat number.
02
Turning
Raceway and mounting faces turned before hardening.
03
Heat treatment
Induction hardening of raceways and gear teeth.
04
Grinding
Raceway profile and mounting faces ground to tolerance.
05
Assembly
Balls or rollers, cage, seals and grease.
06
Test & pack
Torque, clearance, backlash, then seaworthy packing.
Why we quote the process, not just the part
Two suppliers can quote the same drawing and deliver very different rings, because the difference sits in hardening depth, grinding allowance and clearance setting — none of which appear on the drawing. Our quotation states the process assumptions, so you can compare offers on equal terms.
- Hardening depth and hardness range stated in the offer
- Clearance and backlash grade stated, not implied
- Inspection plan attached to the quotation
- Packing method specified for sea freight
